It is extremely important that you determine what is causing the painful foot condition. In general, a proper fitting, extra depth shoe, cushioned arch support (over the counter, hand-made or custom orthotic) are necessary in treating these conditions. Often, extra stretching and or adjusting the upper portion of the footwear is beneficial in reducing rub pressures. Extreme cases can require custom made footwear to accommodate the deformity.
